CREATIVE TEAM BIOGRAPHY

 

WEISSBERGER THEATER GROUP (Producer) is a not-for-profit company founded by Jay Harris which since its creation in 1992 has produced Off-Broadway productions of Down the Road by Lee Blessing starring Eric Stoltz; Freefall by Charles Smith which was nominated for seven Audelco Awards; Dates and Nuts by Gary Lennon; Where the Truth Lies by Catherine Butterfield; and Side Man at CSC Theatre in the East Village. Side Man received the 1999 TONY Award for Best Play and for Frank Wood as Best Featured Actor in a Play, and 1998 Best Play nominations from the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle. Michael Mayer won Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for his direction and Kenneth Posner won a Lucille Lortel Award for his lighting. WTG is a subsidiary of the Anna L. Weissberger Foundation which was created and funded by the late theatrical attorney, L. Arnold Weissberger, to support the performing arts, especially theater. The foundation honors and rewards playwrights by sponsoring the L. Arnold Weissberger Award, given each year for the most outstanding unproduced play. Weissberger Theater Group is dedicated to producing new plays in New York City.
